Looking to upgrade to a Haltech ECU? Don’t want to change your OE wiring harness? Look no further than a DJT-Performance Plug and Play Adapter
This adapter harness allows you to use a Haltech ECU Instead of the Toyota ECU without needing to tap-in or rewire your entire engine harness.
Suits: 1993-1994 Toyota 80 Series Land Cruiser FZJ80 with Distributor 1FZ-FE (Australia/New Zealand)
Included: Adaptor Harness, AFM Delete/IAT Relocation Harness, Spares Expansion Kit, Online Setup Guide.
Not Included: Haltech ECU
Quality: Tefzel Wire, Felt Tape, Genuine TE & Deutsch connectors, sealed crimp junctions for vibration resistance, Aftermarket Toyota ECU connectors.
Adapter Features:
- Keeps all OE functions (Aircon, Cruise control, Fuel tank select, etc..)
- Easily configure a digital dash gear display with the included PRND2L inputs grabbed from a nearby junction connector (included on all auto transmission adapters). This feature is unique to DJT-Performance adapters.
- Provision for future expansion via custom wiring (Coil over plug, boost solenoids, E85, etc..)
- Full Automatic Transmission control (All solenoid and shift behaviour)
- CAN bus expansion (Used for Wideband control, Digital gauges, etc..)
- Easily convert to COP ignition system via custom wiring
Things to keep in mind:
- If Auto transmission selected, you will need to pair the adapter with a Haltech signal converter (not included). (Signal converter not required if paired with a NEXUS SERIES ECU)
- OE ECU immobiliser system will not function, OE immobiliser uses pulsed coding that cannot be used. (immobilising can be done via software once installed)
- OE Oxygen sensors will be made redundant, a Haltech WB1 Controller kit will need to be installed to the exhaust system and plugged into the CAN bus expansion connector. (Keep in mind Nexus model ECU's have built in wideband controllers that only require a Haltech oxygen sensor hardware pack to be connected directly to the adapter)
- OE AFM will be made redundant, it can stay in place but it is an airflow restriction, either replace with Haltech 3 Bar Sensor or use Haltech's Internal MAP sensor provided on their ECU's.
- If the OE AFM is removed, The built in IAT sensor will need to be replaced with an aftermarket sensor.
- A downloadable base tune is provided, you will require initial setup to be completed by a competent engine tuner and further more tuned on a dyno. (To prevent damage, install and setup should be completed by competent person/s)
- The 2nd Start button and PWR Select function will need to be wired in via custom wiring.
Why would I need this adapter?
The main use for these adapters are for turbocharged applications where the OE ECU falls short of capabilities. However, naturally aspirated engines benefit greatly when upgrading to an aftermarket standalone ECU.
N/A Benefits:
- Greatly improved fuel economy.
- Improvements in throttle response.
- Future provision for turbo/supercharging.
- Closed loop Wideband control
Turbo/Supercharged Benefits:
- Unlimited tuning capabilities.
- Advanced engine protection
- Boost control
- The ability to retain/remap all OE functions and switches.
Boost Control Information:
- Boost control can be done via custom wiring from the SPARES connector that is provided free of charge.
OR
- DJT Performance saves you the hassle of running wire through your firewall by utilising some redundant wiring.
Follow the instructions below on how to use this feature:
- The 3 wire variable resistor pot located in front of the OE airbox can be deleted and repurposed to provide signal for a 3 port MAC boost control solenoid.
- Switched 12v supply will need to be provided from elsewhere and is entirely up to the installer. (Customers typically take 12v from pin B+ at the diagnostics plug behind the airbox, it can be de-pinned or spliced/extended out to the Boost Control Solenoid)
Diagnostics Connector Pinout:
Pin # | Colour | Connection |
+B | _____ | Ignition switched 12v <-- Use to power Boost Solenoid |
Redundant Sensor Connector Pinout:
Pin # | Colour | Connection |
1 | _____ | Not used or needed by Boost Control (ECU Sig Ground) |
2 | _____ | Not used or needed for Boost Control (ECU 5v) |
3 | _____ | Boost Solenoid PWM signal <-- Signal to control Boost Solenoid |
